He's the shark who took the NFL by storm. Drew
Rosenhaus is the man behind the money - one of
professional football's most successful agents.
A graduate of the University of Miami and Duke
University Law School, Rosenhaus now runs
Rosenhaus Sports Representation, based in Miami
Beach, FL. RSR was established in 1988, when
Rosenhaus was 22 years old, making him, at the
time, sports’ youngest registered agent.
Rosenhaus has negotiated over one billion
dollars in contracts, for players at every
position and with every team. Through creativity
and innovation, he has negotiated several
record-breaking deals (and ground-breaking
endorsement deals), which went on to set the
precedent for the sports industry. Last year,
Rosenhaus was ranked #1 Agent by the Sports
Business Journal.
"I am a ruthless warrior. I am a hit man. I will
move in for the kill and use everything within
my power to succeed for my clients." It's this
attitude that has inspired his NFL clients to
dub him "The Shark." He represents over 80
active players, the most of any agent in the
NFL, including: Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson,
Warren Sapp, Santana Moss, Willis McGahee, Zach
Thomas, Jeremy Shockey, Edgerrine James, Clinton
Portis and Plaxico Burress.
Perhaps Rosenhaus' most indelible mark is his
ability to fulfill the mantra, "show me the
money," a phrase immortalized by the hit movie
Jerry Maguire. In this film, he was the basis
for the character Bob Sugar (portrayed by Jay
Mohr).
Rosenhaus is currently working on his next book,
due to hit shelves in August 2008, focusing on
business success and the art of negotiation, but
will also serve as a memoir.
