Last fall Willie
Jolley
was asked by Ford Motor Company to be the
"Speaker of Record" for the first phase of their
re-organization efforts...to help Ford become
profitable again (after six quarters of losses).
The first phase was to help Ford lower their
work force with an employee buyout program. The
employees had been reluctant to take advantage
of the buyout offer and the Ford
executives hoped I could help them reach their
goal of reducing the workforce by at least
25,000 employees. For most of October and
November Willie
Jolley
was in different cities speaking at Ford plants
to thousands of Ford employees. On November 27th
the buyout offer ended and on November 29th the
results were released to the media... 38,000
people had taken the buyout. (over 50% more than
they had hoped for)!
As a result of
the success of Phase One Willie
Jolley was
asked to be a part of Phase Two, which was
developing an Attitude of Excellence, for
the Ford workers. In February Willie
was at Ford Headquarters recording television
spots for the Ford internal television network
that could be played throughout the plants. The
spots started playing in mid February and in
June the media released the news that "Ford Was
Back!" Ford had just had it's first profitable
quarter in 7 quarters. And we
are
grateful that Ford executives have stated
publicly that Willie
